It’s a curated micro-world for cinematic living, meaningful connection, and emotional depth. Bootstrapped from day one, Safehouse grew to 120 paying members in San Antonio through pure resonance — no paid media, no campaigns. Even after the original space closed, 34% of members continued paying. Now, Safehouse is raising $1M to relaunch into a new flagship space and debut Safehouse 2.0: a refined physical experience paired with a members-only app and a ground-up, emotionally intelligent member connector — all built by the Otherplace team. This isn’t about access — it’s about alignment.

The Challenge
The modern world lacks intentional third spaces. Existing options are either overstimulated (loud cafés), performative (clout-driven clubs), or transactional (empty coworking spaces). Our and cultural tastemakers—craved stillness, genuine connection, and curated community.
Our Solution
We created SAFEHOUSE: a private, members-only sanctuary that functions as café by day, wine bar by night, and cultural hub always. Every element—from lighting to member selection—was designed to foster authentic connection and creative productivity.
Key Results & Impact
Safehouse wasn’t built with outside capital or big campaigns — it was bootstrapped from day one. The founding team grew an active 120-member base paying $150/month entirely through organic reach and community energy. No paid ads. No hype cycles. Just real connection. As the brand evolved, so did the model: transitioning from a single physical location into a digital third-space with a custom-built member app, an AI-powered personality matcher, and a growing network of partner spaces for members to gather IRL. Today, Safehouse is scaling intentionally — with operations in place, capital now being raised, and a new flagship location on the horizon. More than a club or co-working space, Safehouse is building infrastructure for deeper belonging.
