Wisely is a Customer Intelligence platform purpose-built for restaurants — combining CRM, CDP, reservations, waitlist, guest sentiment, and marketing automation in one. As founding designer, Andres Jasso shaped every touchpoint, from product UI to brand identity, helping position Wisely as an authority in restaurant tech. The result: rapid adoption by hundreds of multi-unit brands, with its Customer Data Platform ingesting 100% of guest data—not just loyalty members. In 2021, Wisely ranked #300 on the Inc. 5000 list and was acquired by Olo for $187 million—its first public-company acquisition, cementing both product and brand value. Post-acquisition, Wisely became Olo’s customer-data pillar, scaling to 600+ brands across the network. The Challenge

In 2016 the restaurant stack was fragmented: POS vendors owned transaction data, while guest data sat in siloed loyalty apps and table-management tools. Brands lacked a single view of the guest, could not personalise marketing at scale and were losing share to all-in-one competitors such as Toast and OpenTable. Wisely needed to: Unify POS, online ordering, loyalty and in-store data, present complex analytics in an intuitive UI for operators, establish a credible, design-led brand in a crowded SaaS space.

Our Solution

Otherplace led product, brand, and narrative design for Wisely — positioning it as the customer intelligence platform built for restaurants, not just their data. Jasso drove end-to-end UX, built Wisely’s first design system, and shaped a distinct identity that stood apart from generic CRM tools. We guided the launch of flagship features including the first restaurant-specific CDP, a host-facing reservations app, and automated SMS/email marketing. The result: a category-defining platform that scaled fast and achieved a nine-figure exit through acquisition by Olo.
